This tour
starts with an approximately
two-hour drive to Los Chiles. Our
guide will describe the most
important sights along the way
including orange groves, and fields
of papaya, passion fruit, yuca,
cacao, ornamental plants, and sugar
cane. On arrival in Los Chiles we
will take a 15 minute break at a
small local restaurant before
continuing the tour. After the
break we will take a two hour ride
up the Frío River in a covered boat
to the entrance of the refuge.
Along the
way we will be able to see some of
many species that inhabit the area
such as sloths, iguanas, caymans,
lizards, bats, three kinds of
monkeys as well as a wide variety of
flora and birds. We will enjoy a
delicious typical Costa Rican lunch
on the riverbank (vegetarian food
available), before returning to Los
Chiles and continuing to La Fortuna
Includes bilingual
naturalist guide, lunch on the banks
of the Frío River, beverages,
transportation in our air
conditioned mini bus and covered
boat, entrance to the refuge.
