San José – Manuel Antonio (10 days / 9 nights)

Arrival to San Jose. A representative of our company will meet you at the Juan Santamaria International Airport and will transfer you to Hotel Herradura Golf resort & Conference Center.

The hotel is nestled in the heart of the central valley, five miles from the international airport, and a short drive from San Jose, the capital city, amid a breathtaking backdrop of lush green meadows and surrounded by beautiful mountains.

Mountain biking tour. We will pick you up from the hotels Herradura at 7:30 A.M. We start with a downhill before the entrance to the Irazu Volcano for 3.8 km. We then climb for 2.7 before descending to the foothills of the Turrialba Volcano and the Turrialba Lodge. There we will break before continuing the last 9 km to our finish in Pastora de Turrialba. Total distance is 34 km. Note: This route doesn't have a support vehicle and includes bikes, helmets, guide and transportation.

White water rafting to Pacuare River (class III-IV). The Pacuare River is one of the top five rafting rivers in the world for its scenery and rapids. This quintessential tropical river is a trip of pure magic, unsurpassed beauty, wildlife and exhilarating rapids. Located on Costa Rica’s Atlantic slope, the Pacuare River borders the Talamanca mountain range, home to native Cabecar Indians and an incredible variety of wildlife.

After an early morning pick-up from the hotel, you will drive by private bus and make a break for a delicious, typical Costa Rican breakfast. Once at the river, you’ll raft 16 miles deep in the heart of densely vegetated gorges, past gushing waterfalls, serene pools and pounding rapids, in one of Costa Rica’s most impressive primary rainforests.

After an adrenaline-packed afternoon running rapids like Upper and Lower Huacas, Cimarron, Dos Montanas and many more, after we finish, we’ll enjoy a hearty and delicious lunch. On the return drive to San José, you’ll enjoy remarkable views of Braulio Carrillo National Park and Irazú Volcano.

Around 10:00 am a transfer will take you to the airport and in few minutes you will be flying to Manuel Antonio National Park region in the Pacific coast.

You will be transferred to El Parador, which is located on a densely-forested peninsula with a 360 degrees panorama of the ocean and jungle. Parador offers a gourmet restaurant decorated with an impressive collection of antiques that will take you beyond your imagination.

In the afternoon you will do the horseback riding tour to waterfall, where you can enjoy one of the most beautiful landscapes of the rainforest. This horseback riding tour is a half day, through a typical Costa Rican area called Villa Nueva, where you will have a good opportunity to see the local country side and jungle. This excellent tour is a 30 minutes drive from Quepos, and includes 1 ½ hours riding, also don’t forget your bathing suit to take a swim in a beautiful waterfall on the way. For birdwatchers you will have good chances to see toucans and some other exotic birds.

Enjoy a delicious breakfast in the restaurant.

This day you will go to an exciting “4 track Tour”. You will be driving your 4-wheel motorcycle through the beach and forest. In the afternoon you can enjoy the sunset and make this romantic moment unforgettable.

Full day canopy tour. This is an exhilarating way to spend a day! The trip offers the excitement of exploring the tropical canopy through a series of suspension platforms, which are situated high above the forest floor. These platforms are connected be steel cables that have been specially designed for people to slide across, allowing you to discover the flora and fauna of the tropical forest first hand. You will have a chance to see a variety of animals, including howler and white-faced monkey’s, sloths, and toucans. Snacks and lunch are included. You will have many chances to take pictures including a spectacular ocean veiw from the mountains.

Sea Kayaking tour. A more challeging open ocean paddle along one of Costa Rica´s most beautiful coastlines. Nearby islands are nesting sites for boobies and frigatebirds. We stop for a swim and snacks in isolated Biesanz Bay and we lunch at the end of the trip, near the National Park of Manuel Antonio.
