San José - Arenal – Monteverde  (6 days/5 nights) 

Arrive to San José and  transfer to the Hotel Montaña de Fuego.

Montana de Fuego is located 9 kms. west from La Fortuna town, San Carlos. The Arenal Volcano is 6 kilometers from the lodge, having a excelent panoramic view of the valley!! All the "cabanitas" have a nice porche with tables for amenities family meetings and the majestic view to the Arenal Volcano. Montana de Fuego is completely surrounded by beautiful green gardens, natural trails and the ecological view around the slopes of the Arenal Volcano.

Around 3:00pm. you will enjoy a hiking tour to the Arenal volcano which is one of the most actives of the world. During this hike it is possible to see many plants, birds, and other animal species that call the rainforest home. You will get close enough so that you can enjoy the eruptions of the volcano, but always from a safe distance. After that, you will go to a viewpoint where you can watch the volcano while enjoying a drink. Later on you can relax on the hot springs of Tabacon Resort.

After a satisfying breakfast, we begin our scenic hike to the dam of Arenal Lake before traveling to the highlands of Monteverde to Hotel Fonda Vela. This hotel is located on a 35 acre family farm in the heart of the Monteverde community. With magnificent views of sunsets over the western lowlands and the Nicoya Gulf. Accommodations are spread out in five buildings surrounded by tropical nature.

Visit to Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Lush ferns and mosses cover the ground in this high elevation rain forest and the tall trees form a canopy overhead, while monkeys and birds chatter in the distance. If you are lucky, we may even see the resplendent quetzal
